HP Omen Reactor Gaming Mouse Review

What is HP Omen Reactor Gaming Mouse?

HP Omen Reactor is a rare beast. At first glance it shows a relatively familiar gaming experience, but under it there are a few features that were not often seen in enthusiastic mouse spaces.

More specifically, HP's pitch black device is one of the first devices to use optical mechanical switches to theoretically provide faster and more responsive performance. Apart from this nifty new feature, Omen Reactor boasts rich customization options along with RGB lighting, making it an attractive package for PC players.

HP Omen Reactor Gaming Mouse - Design, Build, and Function

The HP Omen Reactor stands out as an orthodox but also convincing design, boasting a distinctive frosted black color, even among the kits. When I first left the box, it looked unusual, but most of my doubts were thrown away except for the second one I played with it.

It feels great to use, mainly for the hand rest sitting on the left, eliminating the inevitable hand cramps that will enter after a long game session. The corner accent of the design that helps to distinguish the DPI button from the scroll wheel also looks great and sets the balance between traditional design elements and the border you expect from a device that is named "Omen".

In addition to the usual two mouse buttons, the third one is next to the above platform and can be used to flick web pages, menus and other elements. Again, it is arranged to feel naturally.

Slide the mouse itself down, the Omen logo will be displayed. This has been enhanced by the implementation of customizable RGB lighting. Details will be explained later. There is a thick metal spring below it, and its height can be adjusted accordingly. Different grip style. This is a wonderful feature, but I did not think that I used it so much.

With fast response time, Reactor is familiar with FPS game with fast tempo.

Then, we must mention the USB cable connected to HP Omen Reactor. We know that it is a strange comparison, but the knitted steel cable makes me think of a snake and feels aesthetic and strange like most stretches in my hand. It is super high quality, and it is not what we have seen with many game mice before.

Unfortunately, we do not sell DPI buttons to adjust mouse sensitivity. I found the sweet spot soon, but it does not provide an accurate way to adjust the DPI to your liking.

HP Omen Reactor Gaming Mouse - Performance

During the testing with HP Omen Reactor, I played a lot. Destiny 2 And A guardTwo first person shooter games, fast and fluctuating reactions are required to emerge the win-quality that you will need a robust gaming mouse to support them.

Fortunately, these are available in spades. By combining the response time of 0.2 seconds and the optomechanical switch, it reacts surprisingly with each click. All entered commands move quickly to the screen. It is wonderful and effective especially for shooting games where some action is constantly developing.

I rarely slide along my desk, become messed up and cause annoyances. Certainly, Omen Reactor sometimes feels a little heavy and lacks the clever movements required of high-rise gaming mice. That said, it is by no means a big deal.

HP's Omen Command Center software allows you to synchronize lighting options.

HP Omen Reactor Gaming Mouse - Software and Lighting

To get the most out of RGB lighting on this device, you need to download the Omen Command Center software. This allows you to customize the lighting output according to the selected color scheme. Here are a lot of products, and if you are familiar with a wide range of products from the company, we will introduce superior alternatives to Razer Synapse.

As far as software is concerned, Command Center is relatively easy to install and set up from the Microsoft store. You can adjust the lighting according to your preference and assign the macro key more efficiently. You can easily satisfy the standard set by Synapse, but not everyone will provide information to other custom-made clients.

However, due to Omen Reactor's design, the lighting is almost always hidden by your hand while the device is in use. This makes the customization somewhat verbose - just to confuse it as it cycles through different presets unless you're always planning to leave your PC.

Why buy HP Omen Reactor Gaming Mouse?

The HP Omen Reactor is sold at most retail stores for £ 64.99 and offers genuine decent build quality and rich functionality for gamers who have had a decent mouse experience. It has an attractive and responsive wire, a wire that feels like a snake. What do you not like?

Unfortunately, RGB lighting seems to be a retrofit and is always hidden with your hands, so in normal use it rarely surfaces.

verdict

Even with some compromises, HP Omen Reactor is an excellent gaming mouse at this price.
